ABOUT THE ARTIST
Jesse Hancox
Beginning with a sketch drawn from Sharpie, Jesse Hancox takes steampunk style to a new level. Iron, commonly seen as cold and industrial, has come to life with Louie Light. Named after a beloved childhood pet, Louie the Lovebird was wildly animated with a spunk in his step. Louie brought smiles and light into people's hearts. Bringing these joyful, whimsical moments to life is now the inspiration of Jesse's art.
Louie Light has many faces and is proudly displayed at Iandor Fine Arts Gallery in the Ironbound section of Newark, NJ, Urban Muse in Denville, NJ, and various homes and offices. The Estate of renown abstract artist Norman Lewis is also a collector of Jesse's work.

Jesse Hancox was born in Saint Johnsbury, Vermont. When very young, his family moved to Sussex Count, New Jersey. He went on to study Electronics and pursued a career in Technical Theatre. Jesse's knowledge of special effects and robotic lighting employed him on countless Broadway shows from Disney's Little Mermaid to Aaron Sorkin's To Kill A Mockingbird.
While visiting Ithaca, NY, the words on a marquis "This is just intermission" brought light to a very uncertain future in theatre. During Broadway's temporary closure due to the Covid Pandemic, Jesse decided to take advantage of his unforseen down time. "We will not stop creating, we will find an audience. The marquis was a reminder that art hasn't stopped. But it is time to make the best of change."

After creating his first Louie Light, Jesse received tremendous international recognition and numerous requests for customized orders. Louie has proven in unstable times, the simple things can bring the greatest joy!
